Sliding haha! I am having a hard time with separating them. I caught the tip of my finger in between the magnets as I was trying to slide the magnets apart. Needless to say I ended up popping the plastic insert out from the middle of the magnets now 4 ae affixed to each other. Don't get the magnet close to the other magnets or they will snap together quickly. I wanted strong. I obviously I didn't know what I was asking for. I bought some other type and they barely held anything. These are the strongest magnets I have used.
