Surely sticking it on a fresh tattoo wouldnt work if so.** A: Hey. I started to use it from 2nd day after tattoo to secure it from dirt and irritation. The whole thing is adhesive and protect really well. You just have to be very careful when applying it to your skin to avoid wrinkling. Removing it was a little bit more tricky to be honest. No making mess on bed sheets, no getting clothing fibres stuck in it, healing is a doddle. I’ve used second skin given to me by my tattoo artist before, so I already know what to expect. For newbies to second skin, here’s a few tips about it and this product: If you have sensitive skin, I wouldn’t use it. I don’t really understand why there are so many negative reviews about this, even my tattoo artist wouldn’t use second skin on anyone with sensitive skin or skin issues. Remove the second skin in the shower. This will help it come off. This product isn’t to be used for protecting your tattoo in the shower (showering with a fresh tattoo is absolutely fine - you can get a fresh tattoo wet, just not soaked like in a bathtub or a pool). Try and peel in the direction of your hair growth. Cut the second skin to size, leaving a slight border to your own tattoo.
