Review: Strong, functional, quality belt. - I have been working as a CNA at a nursing home community for about 3 months. Although I was given a gait belt when I started, I misplaced it. I checked desertcart and decided on this belt. I have now had it a little over a month and I am really pleased with it. I like the color and the length is great. (It is a least a foot longer than the one I received when I started.) The buckle is functional and easy to use. It is made of metal and not some cheap plastic. The belt is easy to grip. It is sturdy and strong and helps me lift my residents with much more ease. (It is really is a back and body saver for both parties.) My favorite part of the belt is a very small detail that I have not seen on similiar belts. An extra fabric loop that is slightly stretchy (yet not flimsy) and moves down the belt in order to keep the strap from falling. It reduces the need to tuck the belt on most people while using the restroom. Overall, I really like this belt. It works great and helps both the resident and myself feel better about transferring them from place to place. I liked it so much that I didn't bother looking for the other one.

**Q: Is the buckle gold tinted or silver. Conflicting pictures.**
A: The buckle is silver. It's a great gait belt!

**Q: Can this be used with a wheelchair to help prevent person from sliding down?**
A: I would never use this gait belt for a person in a wheelchair who might slide down and fall.  The risk of the person's head getting caught and being unable to breath would far outweigh the benefit of not sliding out and, perhaps, falling.

**Q: There's conflicting info on the material of the belt.   Is this a woven cotton or woven nylon belt?**
A: This feels like both. there does seem to be more cotton.

**Q: How do you clean them between patients**
A: I would suggest that you buy the vinyl. As an occupational therapist I clean my vinyl in this Covid world with an Appropriate disinfectant wipe that kills Covid. However Covid can be killed in a hot washer With soap and then hot dryer . It kind of depends upon if it’s for multi person use. I hope this helps you.
