My DVD/CD burner burns these disc at 40X with never a failure. **Q: Can you put essays on it?** A: You can write data files onto the disc (i.e. doc or text files) as well as any computer files or record music but not both **Q: Can I record music on these cd's from a Sony cd recorder/player?** A: I have a Sony 5-disc CD recorder and NO, these discs will not work in it. Look for CDs that say "MUSIC" in the title and/or say "DIGITAL AUDIO" in the compact disc logo.
