## Description

Coop Auto Door is a heavy-duty, Amish-made, automatic chicken coop door that comes ready-to-use and requires minimal installation and setup. The predator-proof, heavy duty, all-weather aluminum door features a clean-sliding action that does not catch or stop. The super-strong polycarbonate cover provides visibility and will not scratch, crack or break. Coop Auto Door features a concealed motor with no hanging wires or exposed parts, and the motor comes with a standard one-year manufacturer’s warranty. You will love the freedom that comes with an automated door, while your chickens enjoy the protection of the coop Auto Door. The frame (33” x 12” x 3”) fits over a 10.5” wide, 12” tall opening and is constructed of composite material that is impervious to the elements and provides a sturdy, easy-to-clean surface. Cord strength is rated at 120lb. Motor lifting capacity is 6lb. Parts operating temperature ranges from -30f to +120f. Coop Auto Door installs in just four easy steps: 1. Measure and cut a hole in your chicken coop 2. Attach the frame with four screws 3. Install four aa batteries (or use electric power) 4. Set the digital timer...And that's it with the advanced model you can enter your location and utc time, and sun mode automatically adjusts opening and closing times to match your local sunrise/sunset times. Simply set the number of minutes before/after sunrise or sunset, and sun mode does the rest. The door also features timer, override, and manual modes. Timer mode sets open/close times based on clock time. Override mode temporarily holds your door in an open/closed position without losing presets. Manual mode allows you to move the door on demand without losing calibrated settings. The second chance option enables end of day door reopening and closing for “latecomers.” Power your automatic chicken door with 4aa batteries or electric power. A plug compatible solar kit is also available. Power supply is 110v. Manufactured in Lancaster county, pa.

## Features

- 4 operating modes: Sunrise/sunset, timer, manual & override, also offers a “second chance” option
- Sunrise/sunset mode which uses location & user offsets to automatically set open/close times daily
- The predator proof heavy duty aluminum door with composite frame will not rust, rot or warp

*by E***P on August 31, 2017*

We have had this for a month and a half and it has work perfectly so far. Setting up the sunrise and sunset timer wasn't very hard or time consuming. I haven't had a chicken locked outside yet, I set it to close 30minutes after sunset and all my chickens are safely inside the coop by then.Installing it was easy. It took my husband and myself 10-15mins to install.I am glad I got the sunset/sunrise timer so I don't have to worry about changing the time or that the door is left open well after dark. We live where there are plenty of predators and this door has kept everything out so far.It works great if we are gone I don't worry about my chickens being locked in the coop all day or in danger with an open door.I was a little worried about the door size. I raised some Cornish cross and fell in love with one of the sweet roosters and couldn't send him to the freezer with the rest. He is around 5 months old and I was worried he wouldn't fit. He has to duck and has maybe a 1/2 inch on either side when he uses the door but he can make it. He is around 15lbs now (maybe more he is one big boy!) and very wide. If he can make it the door can easily accommodate pretty much any chicken breed.UPDATE: It's been over 5 months now and it's still working great. There has been some pretty cold nights in Michigan and I got worried when I noticed frost on the automatic opener but it has continued to work so far. I have had to change the batteries twice so far. When the display is slow or the door takes a while to move up or down I change the batteries. It keeps all the settings when changing the batteries.I still have my large rooster who is very very wide and over 20lbs. His wings brush the sides of the door and he has to squat to get in and out but he doesn't appear to mind.

### ⭐ Not the best thing I've seen.

Well on the plus side it seems well made and functions as described. On the negative side I find the read-out screen very difficult to read and calibrate. When installed the door is naturally very low and the read out has small letters/numbers. It is necessary for me to be on all fours to read it and change any numbers. Being older (67) this is a hard thing to do. They need a better read-out screen with some color and or larger numbers. Maybe if the read-out panel were detachable it might be less of an ordeal to change settings. When calibrating or changing times, etc the tiny numbers blink and that makes them even harder to read.I'd rate it a 10 for build quality but give it a 2 for set up/adjustment ability. They could really do better. I'm building a larger coop with 2 separate areas for chickens. I will be looking at another brand for the other auto door. There also needs to be a way to open/close the door when needed rather than having to change the times. Needs some sort of over ride switch. It has been installed for two months now and works great most of the time. Somehow the cord or motor has gotten out of adjustment and only opens about 3/4 of the way now. I guess I will have to remove it from the coop wall and take it apart to get it adjusted properly again. It's nice not having to go open and close the coop during rain storms and snows

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Makes for happy hens
*by S***. on May 10, 2017*

I bought this door because I live in an area with foxes and raccoons. I got tired of worrying about my flock when my wife and I went out for the evening and we didn't have anyone to close them in for us.When the Automatic Coop Door arrived I configured it in my living room and tested it several times before installing it in my coop. The controls were pretty straightforward and setup took less than 15 minutes. It seemed to work fine, but I noted that there were no "pre-drilled" holes in the sill as mentioned in the instructions so I drilled my own and installed it in my coop. It worked fine the first night, but on subsequent nights the door would stick in the half-closed position and had to be manually closed. I contacted the manufacturer and explained the problem. Elam Miller told me that the door binding was likely caused by a defect in the frame and sent me a replacement door and a return label for the defective one. The new door operated more smoothly and since it was installed it has been working flawlessly. The responsive customer service and the properly working replacement door allow me to give this product 5 stars and I highly recommend it to anyone considering an automatic coop door.
