These fit like running shorts, meaning that they have a little more poof/stretch in the sides to allow for a long running stride as opposed to a more fitted thigh. They are still comfortable and flattering but if you are just going for a walk, the straight CRZ Yoga shorts in the breathable fabric with the drawstring and no liner are a bit more flattering. The pocket works for me to hold car keys, wallet, dog bags, etc. A typical sized phone would fit, but not a huge one. I love that the pocket has zippers so I don't have to worry about things falling out. I bought both a Large and Medium. desertcart had recommended getting the large. At 5' 10" and 150 lbs, even the medium felt a little big, but I kept them because they were comfortable and flattering for running shorts. I didn't bother to try on the large.
