I do think it would help to add some dry silicone to the moving parts to make them easier to move and turn. ### ⭐ Defective and Poorly Designed Boot Stretcher *by C***C on January 20, 2024* I read a lot of reviews and looked at several pictures before making the decision to invest in a singular $200 boot stretcher. I think I’ve encountered not only bad luck, but received a defective and poorly designed tool. The reviews didn’t joke about just how heavy it is. It weighs in at 6.8 pounds. Please *look closely* at the pictures I’ve attached and you will see it measures in at 14” in length, yet the average woman’s knee high boots are 16”. My boots in the photo are 18”. This means it would take 4 days to stretch leather boots (2 days if you buy two stretcher for $400). Day 1 stretch the lower calf and ankle area. Day two stretch upper calf area. Day 3 and 4 to perform the same on the second boot. Now notice the shaft in one of the photos the mechanism is bent and the pin in the shaft fell out. This caused the stretcher to become stuck in my $400 Frye boots. I had to cut the stitching to remove the boot stretcher. I hope I can find a skilled cobbler capable of sewing them back together. In addition to the bent shaft and pin falling out, I also cut my hand and bleed on my boots because that sharp metal pin on the handle also is falling out.
