The instructions are a little sketchy but are easy to figure out. Just make sure that you connect the positive to the accessory and not constant power. Also get the size that is just short of the depth of your tank otherwise the measurements will be off. For example: my tank was just over 13 inches. The chart says to get the 12 inch unit. I initially got the 12 inch and it didn't register until I got over 10 gallons in my tank.
