The steamer is 3.5 cm deep and sits cleanly inside on a safe lip. So, you get 9cm of cooking depth below the steamer. I use it regularly on stove and campfire. The lid clips are a good idea and help avoid the accidental 'knocking off' of the lid when removing it from fire. Good size for cooking meal (ie stew) for 2 or 3 people. Handles are sturdy and well fitting, good quality steel. What I would expect from Fire Maple products. This pot will provide many years of good service.
