Once you get the bag wet, with the soap bar inside, it will lather well. It takes a bit of rubbing, though. It's also a great exfoliator. My skin texture has improved and become softer. The only downside is the bag seams will break apart. These are only good for about 3 bars of soap and then you may need to replace it. I have already repurchased a new set of bags.
