It actually smells horrible like a mix of vapor rub and a weird medicine smell. BUT it really really works! I didn’t dilute it at all and put it directly in my shampooer even though it said to dilute it. So that’s probably why the product smell was so bad. After it dries, the smell starts to go away and most importantly the pee smell is 100% gone. No it’s not covering the smell, it somehow neutralizes it. Once fully dry I went back over my carpets with a wonderful smelling carpet shampoo from a different brand to get rid of the last traces of the weird smelling product. That combo was so good made my house smell amazing and no traces of the dog pee that was deep into the carpet pad in many spots. Soak the area ensuring I get it into the pad and agitate it. Leave it sit and it dries perfectly fine, no residue, doesn’t attract dirt, dries fine. My little boy had the bathroom smelling of urine around the toilet. I’ve tried everything before this to get rid of the smell but nothing worked.
