The game follows the adventures of a teenaged cheerleader and apprentice zombie slayer named Juliet Starling, and it is this very person on whom World Scope based their figure. I was amazed that it actually took this long for a company, any company, to release a figure of Juliet Starling. The combination of cheerleader, chainsaw, and zombie-killer seemed like an idea primed for a plethora of merchandise being thrown our way - a no-brainer. Strangely this was not the case, and almost a year and a half went by until World Scope announced their Juliet 1/8 scale PVC figure. Early test-shots of the sculpt seemed rather crude and very unprofessional; and the company 'World Scope' was not known for their craftsmanship in the PVC figure market. Understandably, people were skeptical right off the bat. So here we are in 2014 and we finally have our long-desired Juliet Starling 1/8 figure. Was she worth the wait? Yes and no. By no means is this figure on par with companies like Alter or even Kotobukiya, but that doesn't mean that what we have is entirely bad. On the contrary, for a somewhat first effort, World Scope has done a good job of capturing many of the finer details found on higher-end figures and the overall presentation is a piece that looks good sitting next to those other 1/8 figures on your shelf. Juliet stands just about 9 inches tall from the base to the top of her braids. She is posed holding her Bedazzled Chainsaw (the weapon with which she slays the zombie hordes) behind her back while popping her right hip out and tilting her head to the right. While many people find this pose dull and/or boring, I think that it works very well here with one caveat: if you look at the figure from the front, her iconic weapon is completely obscured. This is a subjective problem though, since I turn Juliet to the side, I get to see her and (most) of her chainsaw. Many of the details in her outfit are faithfully reproduced and sculpted quite well. From the scrunchies in her hair to the leg-warmers on her feet, the artists did a great job of reproducing the memorable San Romero Knights cheer-leading outfits. The Bedazzled Chainsaw is a small piece of awesome craftsmanship. A very well done sculpt that is both accurate and highly detailed, one of the cooler aspects of this figure for sure. All in all, the sculpting done on this figure is a great representation of Juliet's in-game model. Unfortunately, the paint job that accompanies this sculpt is not up to snuff. Good paint applications can make a poor figure look great and a great figure poor, and sadly the paint on this figure is it's biggest detriment. The colors are accurate, but the finish is a little too glossy to work as needed. For example, Juliet's leg-warmers are done in a glossy red paint whereas they should be a more muted and matte red since they are presumably made of a non-shiny fabric. Also, Juliet's hair suffers the most from the paint job because the paint apps cause the strands of hair to stick together and appear much thicker than they should. This may be due to the "blonde metallic" paint used - a cool premise, but poorly executed. With that said, the lettering done on Juliet's thigh-highs and her crop-top looks fantastic. Very clean and sharp lines that bend with the contour of the sculpt and look very screen accurate and bright. (As opposed to the early test-shots that looked as if the letters were actually stickers...) The only accessory that comes with Juliet is her base. A white circle with the Lollipop Chainsaw logo printed on the lower front and the pegs for securing her feet onto the base. Not too flashy and not too dull, I think it fits the sculpt perfectly and adds to the overall presentation. Overall I am happy with the end result of World Scope's labors. While I am sure this not the last Juliet figure to come along, it certainly is a competent figure in it's own right. If you are a fan of Lollipop Chainsaw then I think it is safe to say that you would enjoy this figure, and if you are just a casual collector of 1/8 PVC figures there is still a lot to like here. Indeed, having a zombie-slaying cheerleader wielding a massive pink chainsaw standing on your shelf will certainly put a smile on your face and after all, isn't that what we want in our figures? The final topic I'd like to address is the price-point of the figure. One of the reasons (beside the paint apps) that I deducted a star is the fact that very few 1/8 scale PVC figures are worth their asking price, although your mileage may vary with Juliet.
