The campers in the next site stood with their mouths hanging open when we took it down and put it in it's bag in two minutes. Very roomy. We had a full sized picnic table, two large camp chairs and still room to move around and store food and equipment. Very spacious. With wind panels you can make it as private or as open as you like.Things not to like: In a heavy rainstorm, water runs off the roof and comes through the mesh. The sold separately wind panels effectively stopped this. Also, the roof leaked. Not much but annoying drips from time to time under the ribs. Come on Clam, seal those seams. For that price, at least the roof should be waterproof. Plastic tentstakes. The first one I put in, in wet, soft, non-rocky ground, snapped like a twig. Why send them at all? Chintzy bendy aluminum ones would've been far preferable to these plastic wastes of space. The size of the bag is a little daunting. I have a pickup so no worries but be sure you've got room for this thing, it's a bit long and unwieldy.Edit: A weeklong setup on the edge of a windy lake in the Adirondacks. All wind panels available in case of rain. Bugs galore, blackflies, noseeums and mosquitos. Afternoon stiff breezes off the lake. This thing performed like a champ. Kept the bugs out except the few that came through the door with us, and they were easily dealt with using one of those electric bug racquets. Great views. Bombproof. With the wind panels it shed rain better, though the roof issue remains. We had to stake it down (with real stakes) due to wind, and once in a while the wind would pop one or two of the windward sides inward. We solved that by staking and lightly tying off the two sides that were prone to collapse. No stress on them but enough tautness from the rope to keep them from blowing inward. It was easy. The views from inside were excellent and we had privacy. Again, neighbor campers were impressed, and jealous of our bug-free space. I love this thing.Recommendations: Get 6 wind panels if you expect rain. I know it's another 80 bucks but it's totally worth it in a heavy rain. They're also great for privacy and for wind/cold blocking capacity.I would buy this again in a heartbeat. The value far outweighs the issues. We could set this up in barely a minute. It makes a great living space for camping. It folds down and goes in its bag in barely 2 minutes. It's roomy, bugproof, almost rainproof and fun to set up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ AMAZING - WATCH THE VIDEO FIRST *by T***L on June 21, 2019* We recently purchased the CLAM Escape after replacing one too many fiberglass poles on our Coleman screen tent. My husband and I car camp and we like to have a mess tent/shelter to use when we aren't sleeping. Once we pitched the previous tent, we began researching and looking for a new option.THIS IS IT!!!!!! I highly recommend that you watch the video first, because the way the tent comes out of the bag can be confusing and if you're not paying attention or you didn't read the directions, it's possible to set it up inside out.NOTE: if you watch the video, this is one of the first things the CLAM guy says before he tells you how to set it up. Once we righted ourselves and watched the video, THIS TENT is so easy and even without my husband, I could set it up on own and I am 55 years old and in decent shape. I would easily say that my husband and I can set this up and take it down in less than two minutes - we did both to practice, but we didn't time ourselves.About the tent itself: the construction is very good and the tent is stable and well made. It is quite large (110 sq. ft) and I believe it will easily fit a large campground picnic table, our utility table, and lawn chairs with room to spare.We are preparing to take the CLAM on a 17 day trip and I will post an update to my review once we use it in the wind, rain, and weather around Lake Superior. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Bug Protection Tent *by M***P on September 1, 2020* The Clam was worth the purchase. Set up easily with two people over a very big campground picnic table. It took about 10 minutes to completely situate. We had to move the table and the tent to the right position. We used it to keep the yellow jackets and mosquitos out while we ate. It worked, it kept them out. Some tiny bugs got in, like tiny moths or a tiny gnat here and there. But it worked for its main purpose. Also, it’s good for privacy using the covers. A couple negatives were the zipper door, having to open and close every time to go in and out. It needs a pass through window or you end up zipping up and down quite a bit. Then the roof got pretty dirty, sap fell on it for 6 days and it’s hard to clean the roof. It was also pretty long, it won’t fit in a smaller car.
