Review: Definitely a handy emergency device - Right out of the box, this product already comes (according to indicator) 75% charged which is pretty standard. This comes with 3 different frequency. One is just for standards FM, another for emergency and AM although it is called something different but from what I can tell it is the AM radio. The emergency channel (at least that what I figure it was) provides different information about the surrounding area such as elevation. I assume this would be good for emergency situations. A few things I notice out of the box is that it comes with a standards micro USB cable which you can use to charge the battery. It also comes with an iphone lighting adapter. I found this to be pretty nice thing to have if you are an iphone user. The battery is not much to be honest. it's only 2000 which may charge your phone to 30-40% on no use. There is a crank which you can also use to generate power for the phone although I assume this would take a good amount of time. It does have a solar panel to charge but like anything do not leave it directly in the sun for too long. I have tried alot of solar batteries and direct sunlight in a small container just cause more heat and barely charges anything. My recommendation it is good to have but as a last resort and you're better off using the crank to recharge. There is also a hook so you can attach a it to your backpack and such. Also a pull out antenna to get a better signal. There are adjustment settings at the bottom so you can draw power from the internal battery of the AAA battery. This device can 3 AAA batteries which are not included and it is not worth using to charge your phone as you phone will most likely kill the batteries in one charge. My recommendation is to use the bottom switch to ensure that you are using the internal battery to charge. The LED light is bright but I do not like how it has a center light a dark circle the more light. I feel like this hinders the lighting but may some people are okay with that. Overall i think this is definitely a nice device to have in emergency. I put it in the trunk of my car to avoid direct sunlight and for emergency use. If you are looking for that good emergency device this is a great one.
Review: Only for the Apocalypse! - I bought this radio to replace my 20 year old Magnavox AM/FM/TV/Weather radio that is finally, after all these years, starting to malfunction. My biggest complaint is the quality of the sound, after all, sound is what a radio is all about right? Well, maybe not if the apocalypse has come and you're hiding under a bridge with on a few hours of daylight due to a nuclear winter. But, no apocalypse yet. To get any level of volume out of this unit you have to turn it way up, and at those decibel levels it starts sounding very, well "loud", tinny and painful, not enjoyable to listen to for more than a few seconds. I like to listen to the radio, not have to use earplugs to protect my hearing. The reception quality is good, I like the digital tuner (as opposed to my old dial Magnavox) but overall the controls are not very intuitive. Yes, you may have to read the instruction manual like I did. I ended up waking up my wife at 5am (twice) trying to turn it on when I accidently turned on the alarm, which I might add works well. The flashlight also works well. The solar panel is tiny, and even though I only listen to NPR for 15 - 20 minutes a day while taking my morning shower when leaving the radio in a sun facing south window all day it doesn't keep it charged. The hand cranks works, yes, so under a bridge I could get some sound but when it takes 4 hours of hand cranking (according to the desertcart FAQ associated with this item) to get a full charge I think that the repetitive motion stress on your hands and arm far outweigh the benefit (unless of course you're under a bridge hiding from zombies or something). I thought, hey, neat it has a battery I can use to charge another USB device, but don't even try to listen to the radio while this is happening because the interference generated by the process is unbearable (unless you're under a bridge). So, I'm off to try and find a better model. I'll toss this in my survival bag as an instrument of last resort because well, you know, the apocalypse may come some day! Maybe I can use it to scare the zombies away?

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good camping gadget
*by M***Y on April 23, 2019*

I bought this radio cum flashlight as I am planning to camp a lot this summer. This gadget is too good and serves multiple purposes. The best thing is, it can be used for charging the phones and the gadget itself supports charging by solar energy. Radio is an additional benefit, but I doubt using it as I camp in the campgrounds only where help is not far away. The flashlight is working fine too along with all the additional features.
