A: Yes, what you refer to as the agitator just snaps in place. You can take it out if you want and it will still seal. I am using mine daily to mix a powdered formula with liquid, so I like to have the agitator in place.

I haven't used the bottle yet but when I opened the bottle it had minute scratches. It was not wrapped in a polybag. I like my things super clean and nice. Shakers looks premium though, I'll share more after 1 month usage.
