And yes, it will be able to use other langstroth frames. **Q: Can this be set outside, not under a roof or shed?** A: I keep all mine inside until I have bees for them. **Q: Can I remove bottom board and order a premade screened bottom board? I have always enjoyed the natural look. After looking at several hives I chose this one because it had the pre drilled screw holes. Having never put one together before I wanted to know exactly where I should have screws. This was a great hive to start with in building them myself because in the past I have always bought assembled. It went together easily and the only thing I had to buy was wood glue. Other hives often need to have screws and nailed purchased to put together. It is great quality and I love the dove tail joints. If I can put this hive together then anyone can do it. The only negative was a small one. I believe that they burn their logo into the wood after it has been dipped. It left some bare spots without wax (see my second picture). I fixed this by melting some additional wax that I already had into these spots.
