I've tried doing so using a variety of towels, special windshield cleaning tools, etc., but none have worked as well as these. The windshield cleaning tools that come with a pivoting arm, would appear to be the easiest way to do the job. Perhaps it is, but every time I've used one, it leaves streaks behind. On the other hand, these extra large microfiber cleaning cloths leave my windshield spotlessly clean. It's a little more work reaching into the edges of my heavily angled windshield, but the effort is well worth it. I've tried using these with plain water, as well as with glass cleaner, and both results have been equally perfect. My advice to anyone using it for your car, is to make sure that you don't let the cloth touch any of the plastic on your dashboard. If it does, take out a new cloth. This will prevent it from leaving any residue on your windshield.The bottom line is that these are fantastic cleaning cloths.
