When I opened the box I thought.. o no, what have I bought? .. but, after following the instructions I put it together (in about 5 minutes) & im quite impressed with the lamp. You wouldn't think such a 'flat pack' item would turn into something so elegant. It has a pull cord to switch on/off & a lovely beige colour shade. Love it! For the money it a good buy. Don't be put off when opening the box. It definitely looks better when its assembled. Bulb supplied too, & it brightens up a dark corner without taking up too much room. Arrived on time, well packaged. Quite heavy. When I opened the box I thought.. o no, what have I bought? .. but, after following the instructions I put it together (in about 5 minutes) & im quite impressed with the lamp. You wouldn't think such a 'flat pack' item would turn into something so elegant. It has a pull cord to switch on/off & a lovely beige colour shade. Love it! For the money it a good buy. Don't be put off when opening the box. It definitely looks better when its assembled. Bulb supplied too, & it brightens up a dark corner without taking up too much room. Easy to assemble and looks good. Lost a star due to being unnecessarily awkward to use. The 3 colour temperature options are "selected" by turning it off and on - Each time it is turned on it uses the next colour in sequence. So once you have the light you want, say the white one, turning it off is a simple pull on the cord. But turning it back on to white again means pulling the cord 5 times - warm->off->sunlight->off->white. A simple 3-way switch for the temperature on it somewhere would have been 100 times better and made for a decent, simple lamp for 10p extra instead of a half-a**ed approximation. Or just let us pick a bulb for the colour temperature and stick with a simple on/off cord. More options implemented badly reduces value, not increases it.
