It's light weight and perfect for hot Texas summer/springs. It is a coverlet, not to be mistaken for a full cover bedspread. It will not cover sides or bottom to the floor. And I wanted a good quality matelasse to replace the one that I had. This coverlet is made in Portugal, not China and is quality construction. The pattern is subtle and pleasing and the ivory is a true ivory and not too yellow. I was concerned that the price being so low for this product would indicate skimpy fabric or uneven stitches. Not so! This is as pretty as the Peacock Alley coverlet that I had that was 3 times the price. Highly recommended and I'm very glad to have found this on Amazon.Addendum: I washed the coverlet and dried it in the dryer on medium. It SHRUNK. So beware. It is now about the size of a regular queen size coverlet. I just can't put anything on my bed that hasn't been washed.
