## Description

Uniseal is simply the world's best seal and installing the Uniseal is a simple process. After cutting a hole in the wall of a tank or other surface, the seal is inserted. Then the pipe is coated with a slippery detergent (i.e. dish soap) and pushed into the seal. Uniseal products replace traditional plumbing hardware with a single injection molded unit requiring no component parts. It was designed to solve many of the issues of pipe to tank connections. For many industries pipe to tank seals are traditionally among the most complex connections to manufacture. Traditional seals require multiple parts such as, rigid flanges, bolts, washers, o-rings, along with long assembly times and high production costs. The Du Pont Alcryn is the key to the liquid-tight seal. When the pipe is pushed through the rubber-like Uniseal from the outside, the inside Alcryn wall becomes thin enough to allow the pipe to squeeze through and then forms a liquid-tight seal. The coefficient of friction with the plastic pipe is roughly three times higher than any other material which allows it to create a better seal than with any other material. In static conditions the seal is good up to 65 PSI. Uniseal can withstand pressure, and suction, acids, oils, greases, gasoline, sewage, waste, heat and cold. It offers long life, easy installation and reduced labor and material costs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this fit a 1/2" od (pvc) pipe?**
A: In the US, PVC pipe is sold by it's inside diameter (id).  Uniseals are size to the pipe they fit.  So these fit 1/2" PVC pipe.   If your pipe has an outside diameter (od) of 1/2" these will not fit.

**Q: Can this be used on a diesel fuel tank?**
A: No. That would be very dangerous as they are not perfect mechanical seals and definitely not rated for fuel containers. You need solid bulkhead connectors of the appropriate size for your tank.

**Q: How close can you put your hole to the bottom of container with 1/2" Uniseal to allow for the most complete draining?**
A: That is a difficult question.   As every container has a slightly different shape.  The main sealing feature of these is the compression of the seal between the drilled hole and the PVC being pushed through the seal.  You could probably get as close as an 1.5 " from the bottom to the center of your hole.  I would use your best judgement once you receive it and see where you want to install it on your container.

**Q: What size hole saw is required for using the 1/2" and 1" Uniseals?**
A: Hello, 
For the 1/2" Uniseal you will use a 1.25 hole saw and for the 1" Uniseal you will use 1.75 hole saw.  Hope this is helpful to you.
