They're a great size, bigger than normal ornaments. None of mine were broken as they were shipped with plenty of packaging, so I didn't have that problem as I've seen mentioned by others. I'm sure these will serve your purposes as they are heavy-duty, very clear, and good-sized. I learned that I had to spray the balls where they clicked together before I put the decorations inside so that the inside fillings would stay stationary. That why I gave it a four star rating. I wanted to fill these with stuff and make ornaments for the kids in my family, but they will no doubt be able to open these with ease. If I feel up to it, I'll try super gluing them closed I guess.
