I used them for car camping not only to keep out wind debris and bugs while sleeping, but I also used them during the day so I could crack the windows to let heat escape while also blocking a lot of sunlight on the front windows that aren't tinted. Some people said that they drove with them on the windows, but I found them to be distracting a little hard to see out of when they started moving in the wind from driving.
