My little girl likes to dress dolls....** A: No it’s attached to the doll **Q: Does the doll play music?** A: No it does not. **Q: can she sit down?** A: She cannot sit. She is all cloth but my granddaughter just loves her. there is elastic straps on her feet so you can put them on your feet and she dances with you. Whenever I go to my granddaughter’s house the ballerina is always around there somewhere but she’s always straight out head to feet. her face is embroidered and it’s very cute I would buy it again . **Q: Mine has a hard box in the chest. Anybody else's have that? Maybe 2" square. 1" thick. Kinda creepy.** A: To be honest, I didn't notice this in the doll I bought my granddaughter. I wonder if it was there for a potential music box?
