It's a deep brown tending a bit toward copper or chestnut, very like the photo here. Each wire is covered with a thermoplastic insulator (like PVC) and wrapped in a cloth sheath. The cloth is fairly shiny -- it could be mercerized cotton or sateen, but I think it's probably something other than cotton. The length was generous; I measured it at 30' 7". It's wonderful; I'm very pleased. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent *by M***N on December 31, 2020* I rewired some antique lamps using this cord and it looks PERFECT. Great vintage wiring look without the fraying or crumbling. I singed the fabric at the ends when I did the wiring and the synthetic fabric melted very nicely into place so I know it will stay put and won't fray.
