They have a synthetic smell when burned. Pure beeswax candles smell exactly like sweet beeswax when burned. Black smoke smoke is visible while burning. Obvious paraffin wax. Some of them are twisted and every single candle kind of glued to each other so when you try to separate them you risking of tearing it apart. And smell... What a smell! Nothing like bee wax candles. I would guess it will make a very good mosquito repellent. Once you lit it and then extinguish it this thing smells like diesel fuel.Bottom line - there is nothing good about those candles except maybe for its size.
