In fact, the ONLY way I personally could eliminate all wobble was by mounting the monitor onto a wall bracket. Due to the questionable design of this particular Dell monitor, I could not get the monitor to mount satisfactorily on any mount connected to my desk. Note there is some flex when moving the monitor so I tend to handle the arm itself instead of grabbing the monitor to adjust the position. $30 seemed steep for a stamped piece of metal but this was the best deal I could find and I didn't want to scavenge the part from the monitor stand in case I wanted to use that in future.
