It caused ours to shut-down due to poor air circulation (which is what the HVAC tech said when he came to fix it). Now we use it just when we are outside and having people over (the AC unit is on our small patio area, so I bought this to hide it), and I turn the AC off inside when we are using the cover. For our needs, it's good..but if you are hoping for something to cover it all the time, i would rethink this given the air circulation issue. **Q: do the panels have to be at a 90 degree angle or can they open up wider?** A: They can open all the way from 0 to 90 degree on both sides. **Q: How is it anchored to the ground? Three panels come as separate pieces , which allowed us to spray paint each panel (took 3 coats, and 4 would have been better, but ran out of patience). We attached "feet" so the panels stand sturdily in the grass (we bought chair sliders that screwed onto the bottom of each panel), and we purchased silver gate clips instead of using the gold ones that come with the panels. We discovered that we only needed two of the panels to hide the refuse cans, so we've used the third as a trellis in the garden. The wood is "raw", but the panels are well made and attractive.
