This means you never have to worry about it being hooked up. **Q: The instructions say "to be used only in an unenclosed area." for me, that means storing the battery outdoors in -10 to 20 degree f temps. is that ok?** A: I think the manufacturer is talking about scenarios like mine: A 2014 Toyota Prius C, where the 12v utility battery (not the "drive" battery) is encased under the back seat. One would NOT want to run this charger on that battery while the car's windows are closed up; any battery-vapors would need to ventilate out a partly opened passenger door window. In a 1600 sq. ft.
