Also using a headlamp for direct visualization is helpful and you can see if pieces fell in valve cover. Once new one is in it will fit valve cover and pcv valve perfectly. Do not think is worth money to buy Toyota brand grommet This is very inexpensive and worked fine. The pcv valve itself can just be cleaned with carburetor cleaner and reused. Unless you want to buy a new one - just because. The hose was starting to crack on both ends. Trimmed off 3/4 inch on each end but then was a little too short - still worked but decided to replace while was there and was now too short. 1/2 inch trim on each would have worked. Went ahead and ordered this grommet even though many reviews stated you could reuse the grommet. I'm glad I got this. After I removed the old PCV valve, realized that the grommet is extremely brittle. Fortunately I had "TEKTON 5873 Door Panel Remover" that I got from Amazon and using it made it relatively easy to get the old grommet out. I was able to put the new grommet very easily.
