I have tried basswood from other sellers/companies, and this has always been the best, Cuts pretty easy with my laser, which is what I like best. I think other companies use a different kind of glue which makes theirs harder to cut with a laser, this IS plywood so there are three layers glued together.( I think it is three ) It has a smooth surface, so really no sanding needed. Very little warping, really the only time I have had a problem with warping is when humidity is high, other than that no real problems. This is the one I will always buy. Some are more curved and wonky than others, so as long as you use a flat piece I think it would work. **Q: can it be cut with a box cutter?** A: yes **Q: So the ad says 2mm and 1/16 in which is it? 1.5 mm or 2mm?** A: The description is confusing. I ordered these thinking they were 1/16".
