The plastic "knots" are a good size, big enough for the kids to pull up on rope and put their feet on both sides and literally stand. Our rope is hung by a Tree Strap, even though you don't need one my grandkids ( little tree huggers) know its healthier for the tree and branch they swing from. My grandkids age Three years to 13 years old love this rope. Remember, your kids can stand or sit and swing on this. I find a 1.5" rope easier to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Rope is pretty flimsy *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2018* The disks have 1 rounded side and 1 grooved flat side but is near impossible for someone to get both feet onto it (even that know how to climb ropes) without the rope flexing so much that the disk goes sideways. Even with small toddler feet they are barely big enough to get your arches on either side to balance it out. Will prob adapt it to be better suited for its intended purpose but for the price I can't complain.
