As you're pulling a lot of power and it's worth the money to have a larger alternator. 600 plus would work. Make sure the amp isn't getting too hot. Protect mode would mean something is wrong and the amp is shutting down so it does not blow up. What gage wire do you use? You should be using at minimum 4 gage. Also upgrade your ground from battery to chassis.
