Some kittens can wear them as early as age 12 weeks (3 months). To test, try a nail cap on first without the adhesive. If it looks too big, don't glue it on. The nail cap should fit snugly, like a glove. To accommodate younger kittens, you can trim the base of the nail cap making it smaller so it will fit your kitten's nail. Kittens up to about 5 pounds / 2.5kg and/or 5 months generally fit the kitten size. S - Small : (approximately 6 months old-approximately 6-8 pounds 2.5-4 kg) Some kittens at 5 months may need the small size if they are growing fast or are large-breed cats. Small-boned adult cats often wear the small size. If your cat seems smaller than an average full-grown cat, choose small. M - Medium : (approximately 9-13 pounds 4-6 kg) Most adult average size cats wear medium. L - Large : (approximately 14 pounds 6kg and up ) Very large-boned and large-breed cats wear large. The caps are far too wide, even though I ordered the small size for my 9 lb cat. Consequently, they waste a TON of glue. With my name brand, I would generally get 30-40 caps per tube. With these, I got about 15. They also don't stay on very well because they are so wide, so I have to reapply them much more often (roughly every 3 weeks, compared to about 5 with name brand). If your cat is anything like mine, you know this is not a pleasant task! So, pay a few extra bucks for the name brand. Save yourself the frustration. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I LOVE these tips *by M***E on June 23, 2017* I LOVE these tips!!! I have a small Poodle that would tear me up . I put these tips on her with very little effort. Front &back paws and set her down and she had no trouble at all with them!!! And i am a older women, and my dog is very touchy about her nails. But like i said , no problem getting them on or her liking them!! Great product! ### ⭐ Sizes are meaningless, cannot speak to the glue. *by H***M on November 30, 2017* We have small cats (one smaller than the other). We ordered a small and an extra small and they were identical save for the label. Not only that, but they were not small or extra small, but rather an assortment of different sizes and colors. The colors were fine, but the random sizes were useless to us. This was false advertising, so we sent them back. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/44823261-johomoon-100pcs-colorful-cats-paws-grooming-nail-claw-cap-5pcs](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/44823261-johomoon-100pcs-colorful-cats-paws-grooming-nail-claw-cap-5pcs) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-11-07*
