Re: the real thing - these are real, rough opals for sure...they're just very small. Pictures on the web can make things seem a different size than you might think - probably why some people felt ripped off. For the price - I got 7 rough stones, and I can see opal in all of them, some have more opal than others. The size of each stone is about 1/2-3/4 of an inch.
