Review: Great Adhesion and Easy Automotive Sealing Solution - I used this butyl sealant tape for an automotive sealing project and it worked exactly how I needed it to. The tape is flexible, easy to shape, and creates a strong seal without being difficult to work with. It has good adhesion and stayed in place after installation. And also somehow doesn't stick to my fingers - extremely pleasant to work with! (though I didi get it into my hair - yeah that was a challenge to take out).

The 1/4 inch butyl cord I received was good quality and appeared fresh. It was a round cross-section "cord", and not a flat tape. The butyl cord was very flexible and sticky, but not so sticky that it would not let go of your fingers. I applied it at about 70F degrees and kept it out of direct sun so it would not get too soft. I used the cord to seal around the base of some outdoor wall lights that did not fit snuggly to the wall. It worked great. I could push and pull the butyl cord into shape to fit the crack between the light base and the wall. Should provide a good seal from weather.
