It is suggested that you put it inside the sliding door frame, but it COULD be attached over the door. However, positioning there will probably tear the screen or pull it off the vehicle when opening and closing the slider. We found a tarp from Slumberjack Roadhouse that has a built-in screen room which is working better. We use straps over the top of the van to secure it to open into the SIDE of the van, not the back.
