## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this paper good for writing on with a ballpoint pen or anything similar? I'm trying to make a journal**
A: It has a soft surface that takes ink well. I've only used it for typing (manual typewriters) and for computer printing, and for both of those it works beautifully. I would think it would work well with a pen for the same reason. I know it would work well with a fountain pen. I'm not sure if the fiber would be hard for a ball-point to roll across or not.

**Q: What is the gsm of this paper? Is it translucent enough to allow the light from a light table to pass through it?**
A: I do not recall the gsm. It resembles heavy parchment in thickness, but not in weight. Hand-made, it is coarse, unevenly textured. I have used it for the printing of résumés – as a China scholar – for Chinese character chops, and for Chinese calligraphy with brush and Chinese ink. Though I have not placed sheets on a light table, they appear to be too unrefined – in a natural sense, rather than that of aesthetic – to be translucent. Freshly pressed Chinese character seals, using Chinese red ink paste 印泥, does not bleed through, nor is it visible from the back of the sheet.

**Q: This paper looks so gorgeous, is it acid free and archival?**
A: Yes it is acid free. I do graphite pencil drawings. I use it to make prints of some of my drawings that I think would look good with an antique look to the print.

**Q: Is this paper good for linocut printing/ block printing ?**
A: Yes,  I am assuming anyone using your technique expects slight imperfections, but that is the beauty of the craft.  The paper is the same, each piece unique, You will find the paper loves block printing.  It just looks right.   I am not with the company just an old school guy,  for me you just can not find paper like this anywhere.  I wish I could see your work.   Good luck, you wont regret the purchase.

I bought this as back up paper to create wedding table assignment cards. I also ordered Handmade Lokta Card Stock 5x7 Inch Paper with Deckle Edge, which was my 1st choice but was unsure if that paper would work. It did, so I ended up not using this, but this paper would work great in laser or inkjet. It looks wonderful and was smooth.
