I likened the slight odor to that of rubber glue used in shoe repair shops which is probably a similar substance used to assemble this product. It did not fill the room nor is it noticeable without putting my nose inside the zipper opening.The build quality is exceptional for the price. The included outside carrying handle, shoulder strap and carabineer clip are real bonuses for traveling versatility. The hardcase construction gives me great confidence for protection short of falling under the wheel of a car. The interior space is just right for securely holding the JBL Flip 6 and also has adequate room for the shoulder strap, carabineer clip, USB fast charger and cable.
