3M High Strength Large Hole Repair Kit includes all necessary tools for interior or exterior repairs up to 5". Kit includes 6" putty knife, fiber reinforced spackling compound, 5.5"x 6" repair plate, fiber tape, and sanding pad.

Review: PERFECT! - I normally patch holes using individually purchased items but wanted to do this quickly. The hole patched was a socket hole that the socket was removed. The kit is incredible especially for those not used to patching! I was lucky and had access to the back of the hole so fitting the plastic rigid piece was especially easy BUT I tried to do it as the instructions indicated just for this review. It worked though not as "tight" as I like. Point being - it DID work. The patch compound was easy to use. The spatula was, as you would guess, is cheap but, technically, made to use only once so durable enough. The patch was very durable after fixing. It did not shrink at all. The compound was used for other, smaller patch work and worked perfectly. It spreads really well making it highly versatile.
Review: Awesome kit for a beginner or veteran - I was filling in a phone mount (who has a landline anymore?) and I have no experience with drywall. I was looking into these complicate deals with wire mesh, tape, etc and then found this and decided to give it a shot. It worked great! First, the kit says the surface needs to be clean and dust free. I did what I could but with all the insulation, etc in there it wasn't perfect by any means. I did use a razor to trim so of the ragged edges. The 3M backpiece still stuck and held very easily. You can break pieces off to adjust the size which is nice since one side of my hole was against a stud so I wanted to make that side shorter. Next, I filled it with the provided filler. This stuff is amazing! I've used basic spackle before and this is much easier to work with and just fill the entire hole. The tip of doing a final pass with the putty knife being wet helped a lot too. It took less than a minute to fill and smooth the hole. I also only used about half of the container and had plenty left that I used to fill other little holes/dings around the house. It did dry very fast and the next day was easy to sand down and make it smooth. It's worth noting that mine is going behind backsplash so I didn't care about texture but you'd have to get a separate texture kit if you wanted it to match a textured wall. This will be smooth. Overall, easy as pie, took no time at all, made me a lifelong fan of 3M filler products and I'd definitely buy it again. It included everything I needed from the back panel, spackle, putty knife and sandpaper.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Instructions

Make sure you prep the best you can, the adhesive on the patch is really not very sticky. I decided to be lazy and skip the prep and not read the instructions. The patch was too large for the area I needed so it was awkward trying to get it to stay. Long story short, it fell inside the hole while applying the spackle. So, I ended up just super gluing chunks of drywall I’d removed back to the wall and then caulking over that. There was a slight hole in the middle where I didn’t have enough drywall pieces so so just rolled the spackle into a ball and shoved it into the hole. After that dried, I did another layer and miraculously the wall is back to normal. But what I learned is that the patch isn’t super necessary, you could superglue a piece of cardboard really and spackle over that and it all looks the same in the end.
