While any sort of weight reduction is a good thing (when still rated for the same load), don't let this weight reduction fool you into thinking the original model is overly heavy. I have the 22' model, and I find it easy to move around. The quad locks are debatably useful, as I have never felt my 2 pin design was unstable or even the least bit wobbly. The redesigned release locks do sound nice however, as the original ones take a little getting used to. **Q: weight** A: The ladder is not light. If you need a top quality, really well built ladder, that is truly at the top its class this is it. If you only need to use a light weight step ladder for the simplest of jobs this is probably not for you. When I worked as a carpenter this ladder was an absolute "go to." I never worried when using it and the multiple position options are really handy.
