These are the shorter style, but the straps were adjustable enough to fit my frame well. The waist size is true to your actual waist, but I have found that lederhosen can run about a size too small in the crotch. I ordered one size larger than my waist for 'crotch comfort' and it worked. They were a bit loose on the waist (more room for brats and beer!), but with a shirt tucked in and suspenders, they were fine. If you are going to wear these a lot, then the leather will stretch, and you may be better off with your exact waist size. A leather belt could also be worn in that there are belt loops. Anyway, these are authentic lederhosen and the seller's description is pretty much spot on. They are chocolate brown, suede-style, real-leather. The quality is good and they survived Oktoberfest in Germany this year already. I will say that out of the bag, they do have a strong leather smell, and even more so than some, but after letting them air a bit, they were fine. The stitching design is very conservative and minimalist, but quite fine. Two front pockets and one rear one give you plenty of storage. If it werent for the suspenders provided, my hosen would fall off and my boxers exposed to the world. Any new buyers out their please buy exact size as your waist since these are slightly elastic at the back. The quality of leather is immaculate as it is genuine cow leather. Nice feel to it with polyester inner lining makes you comfortable during cold conditions. Too hot for countries like the UAE as it made me sweat during humid countries in months of sep-oct.
