Review: Clean burning steady flame! - After my old steel fire pit rusted out and the bottom fell out, I started looking into new options. Initially, I was considering a propane fire pit just for the ease of use and to avoid smelling like smoke. Eventually, I came across the Solo Stove. Although it’s on the pricier end, I decided to give it a shot. I also bought the pellet adapter so I can burn wood pellets, and I am absolutely blown away by how great this fire pit is. I fill it up with pellets, throw a couple of fire starter sticks right in the center, and light them up. Ten minutes later, I have a massive, steady flame. It really is smokeless and so enjoyable to be around. It's incredibly easy to set up and clean. I put it right in the center of my yard, and because it burns so clean and hot, there is zero scorched lawn the next day when I put it away—you wouldn't even know it was there. I also recently bought the heat deflector since the heat mostly radiates straight up, and my first experience with that was just as impressive. I’ve invested several hundred dollars into this setup, but it is absolutely money well spent.

**Q: Can you use preoiled fire logs in this Solo Bonfire?**
A: Hi, I believe that you should only use wood. It is designed for 12-18" lengths of wood. Using preoiled logs it might get too hot.

**Q: What is the inside depth?**
A: 14.0 inches inside (depth) height x 19.5 in Diameter

**Q: What type of wood is recommended ?**
A: Dry hardwood is best. Seems to smoke more with wet wood. It’s still smokes less than a regular pit though.

**Q: Can u smell the wood? I would like to smell the wood a little.**
A: You can smell the wood, depending on how far you are from the fire.  At three feet from the fire, wood smell is apparent.  At ten or fifteen feet, wood smell will be dependent on wind direction.

We love this! This is a great patio fire pit. We had so many fires this summer oit on the patio. It was a good size to fit our family of 6. It burns for a long time. It was easy to transport and we brought it on vacation with us too! It is easy to clean and maintain. The silver color does tarnish with time and use so a painted one may be a better option if you care about how it looks
