My hair is short and I am growing the top out to be more of a bob. This device works as a curler or a flat iron depending on how you use it. It has flat, heated paddles like any flat iron. It also blows air out of holes that are on the opposite side of the flat irons. If you want a curl instead of straight hair you need to pull your hair through the hot plates and at the same time twist the iron like you were using a curling iron. The cool air coming out of the holes sets the curl in. It is difficult to explain. Maybe you need to get on the L’ange website. If you struggle to curl your hair, I suggest this product. If I had to say one negative thing, it would be that the straightening aspect of it, doesn’t work well.
