## Description

We present to you the famous Armenian national woodwind musical instrument "DUDUK". You have probably heard the wonderful sounds of the DUDUK in many Hollywood movies such as "Gladiator". One of the famous musicians playing on a wooden duduk is Djivan Gasparyan. Our duduks are made from high quality apricot wood. They are all handmade and new. Review: Cheap, Decorative Toy - Reeds Are Poor Quality - Here are photos of how the reeds for this "duduk" looked when I opened the package. Note how one is completely sealed shut, and the other is wide open. The pitch regulators (also pictured- the circular rings around the reed) are oversized and loose, so they are unable to control the wideness of the reeds, change the airflow, or tune the duduk. The effect of these reeds being such poor quality? The instrument is worthless. It is a pretty decoration, nothing more.

**Q: What is difference between “professional” and “non-professional” duduks?**
A: Mostly it is the Reed. You have to find a very good Reed maker which some blogs may write about or go to Armenia to ask around. But it is also just luck based on your mouth and preferences that you come across a Reed that is easiest for you to play. Sound is good for almost any apricot wood instrument. Most professionals have over 30 reeds and choose what they want for the style of playing in a given piece.

**Q: Can barely make a sound, seema wrong. Is it me or the instrument/reeds?**
A: It takes lots of practice. Double reed instruments are hard to play by nature. Give it a little more practice and try soaking the reeds to loosen them up.

**Q: Could i get a video of this instrument being played?**
A: Go on YouTube. They’re a dime a dozen.

Not a bad duduk. Great for a begginer. The reeds might be a bit offat first, but they can be worked with. I would suggest that a purchase of semi-professional reeds would improve it. This same seller offers a set of three. Both are worth buying.
