The material is honestly better than my very expensive human rain jacket, and it fits my dog perfectly. For context, I have a 50lbs bully breed mix who is rather lean, but has a broader chest. Many times, it's hard to find the right fit girth wise. I got a size large which works well because it covers his entire back and a bit of the base of his tail, allowing water to roll off of him and on to the ground. In general, I think the jacket provides a lot of coverage from water...as pictured, only the legs and tail get wet.
