It's a sad, true fact. I'm also pretty lazy and only eye ball a best guestimate on how thick I'm rolling it out and kind of just hope it comes out at least moderately even. Unfortunately this usually results in ugly, uneven pie crusts and cookies : (BUT with this thing it's REALLY easy to roll out super evenly and to a desired thickness!
