I looked at a number of mats before purchasing this one. I really wanted one that folded up vs. rolling up for easy storage and large enough to cover the space in front of our sectional couch (this one is just right and gives the babies plenty of room to play) and also wanted one that was thick enough that if the babies fell over, they will not hurt themselves. I initially thought this mat would be too thin, but it is actually just perfect - thick enough to insulate falls, but not so thick as to be a tripping hazard. Also, waterproof and easy to clean. I've already wiped up several spit-up and comes up very easily. Also, this mat was reasonably priced compared to others! I really like that the play mat is big enough for me and my husband to sit on it and play with our son. Most other play mats I looked at were tiny in comparision. It's also a nice plus that this mat is two sided. The images would not be my first choice by any means but they are tolerably cute and the functionality and quality more than makes up for the funny images. Also a plus is that it comes with a fabric storage/travel case. I thought this was going to work out well for our childcare center and at first it did. We've had it for about 3-4 weeks and I've already noticed 4 tears in the mat. I can see that the plastic is very thin material and it rips easily. I have 3 small babies who who just lay around and play with little toys.
