I expected 1410-8G switch to work just fine right out of the box as well. It really did, I just plugged it and it works since then without a single glitch.Actually 1410-8B is a better than its predecessor. It can handle larger packets, it is much smaller and cable receptacles conveniently positioned at the rear panel (1400-8G has them on the front panel). Also 1410-G can be mounted on the wall and kit includes all the hardware necessary.Switches of this product line don't require any setup or configuration, really 100% plug and play, which is huge plus for small office or home user.This switch really stands up when a mix of Gigabit and lower speed adapters used. Cheaper Gigabit switches frequently effectively run entire network at the speed of the slowest adapter. This one makes sure that any two computers communicate at the maximum speed possible.Switch delivers great performance for the money.
