The paint is fine, all paint will eventually chip, especially if you pick them up and put them down on concrete over and over. The offset weight really helps with getting better control during a workout. My only gripe is that the handle is very thick and difficult to grip after getting fatigued but there is a nice pommel end that helps, especially with a long farmer'scarry. I dont have small hands. What I do have is a grinder and I am going to make the handles smaller and more oval shaped, then I will wrap with grip tape after repainting with a good enamel or maybe even a rubber coating. I give five stars because I have the ability to change them but they could be better from the factory.
