You have to check them often or they'll cut off after their internal tank is full. This dehumidifier has an alternative drainage hose, so it never stops working! It's the best one I've used thus far. I bought this for my small bathroom that has a tendency to develop mildew stains. I'm not one to squeegee the walls so this was by best bet. It does seem to be working and it helps after a steamy shower. I have it sitting on the tank of my toilet so the hose runs directly into the water tank. It was pretty easy to setup and use, just plug in the hose, plug in the power cord, and switch it on. It can be a little noisy if you are in a mood but otherwise I barely notice it.Update: after about 3 months of regular use it has started to produce a continuous rumbling noise (think idling car engine). I don't notice it much till I'm ready for bed, them it's all I can hear. Overall it still works, just not quiet like I originally purchased it for.Update to the update: it has gotten incredibly loud to the point that I'm afraid it will blow up. While it worked it did it's job but now I feel cheated.
